2 Ways to Let Go of Limitations in 2022

Is there something you have tried to learn to do, over and over again, but have not been able to master? Let 2022 be the year to “let it go.”

Here are two ways to rise above limitations:

1) Learn to live with those limitations, and let yourself discover how you can enjoy what you’ve always wanted to do in some different form. For instance, I was never taught how nor did I teach myself (as some children will do) to ride a bike when I was a child. Even as an adult, I have not been able to master riding a bike. So yesterday, I tried a Trike for adults at the local Sam’s Club and absolutely loved it. I was riding it around the store like a kid-gone wild, until the Store Manager requested I stop. Can you guess what next year has in store for me? Pleasurable rides around the neighborhood on my Trike!

2) Alternatively, you may decide that you are going to let this one just go. For example, some people are terrified of public speaking. Despite therapy of all kinds and medications to help, they are still never at ease with public speaking. If you are one of these people and no longer want to suffer (and can afford to forego public speaking), let this one go. Choose another effective way to communicate, and work at making that the best way possible for communicating your ideas to others.

Additionally, working with a therapist often helps us figure out if there are ways to understand the meanings of our fears and phobias and thus decrease or overcome them. It can also help us decide which of our limitations might need to be simply lived with for now and accepted.

Let 2022 be the year in which you allow yourself to get such help and overcome limitations!
